Zhoushan, Zhejiang, China - On October 10th, GE Vernova's gas power generation business was announced as Guotou Jineng (Zhoushan) 2 × The 745MW level gas power generation project provides two 9HA.02 heavy-duty gas turbines. The project is located in the second phase of the Marine Industry Cluster in Zhoushan Islands New Area. It is planned to construct two sets of H-class gas-steam combined cycle units, with an additional installed capacity of approximately 1.68 million kilowatts, which can replace 1.35 million tons of coal (standard coal). It is a key project in the "14th Five Year Plan" development plan of Zhejiang Province, as well as a key project in the low-carbon development and supply and price stability projects of green energy in Zhejiang Province. The project is scheduled to commence construction in October 2023 and be officially put into operation by the end of 2025.
This project mainly relies on natural gas for power generation and belongs to the category of green and low-carbon projects. After the project is completed, the unit plans to use a 10% (by volume) hydrogen blending ratio to mix with natural gas for combustion, which can be blended with hydrogen for power generation and regulate green hydrogen production capacity. This not only improves the consumption capacity of new energy, but also makes positive contributions to the construction of a hydrogen marine application demonstration city, a clean energy source base, and further drives local economic development in Zhoushan City. GE Vernova will provide three 9HA.02 gas turbines for the largest gas turbine plant in China - Dongguan Ningzhou Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Plant; Provide two 9HA.01 gas turbines for the first natural gas hydrogen dual fuel 9HA power plant in mainland China - Huizhou Daya Bay Petrochemical Zone Comprehensive Energy Station; Provide three 9HA.01 gas turbines for the Shenzhen Energy Bright Power Base to meet the rapidly growing power load demand in the western part of Shenzhen. The 9HA.01 unit of Huadian Military Grain City that has been put into operation has a combined cycle efficiency of 63.36%, which is currently the highest efficiency among the HA grade gas turbine units put into operation in China.
