Introduction of Honeywell DCS
1. TDC2000 produced many important results in the field of control systems at that time, such as redundant controllers, redundant control network (DH-Data Hiway), human-machine interface, etc.
According to the distribution principle, the basic functional distribution of the whole TDC2000 is characterized as follows: the control network has a single-level redundant structure; the operator station is responsible for operation and data storage; different controllers implement different process control, etc. This basic function distribution is still adopted by some control manufacturers' DCSs.
2. As the most typical DCS system, TDC3000 further embodies the concept of distributed control, and its main features are as follows.
To meet the needs of large-scale production, a two-tier control network structure is used, where each LCN can connect 10 UCNs and each UCN can connect 32 pairs of redundant controllers. 64 LCNs can also be connected via NG.

The TDC3000 is one of the most classic DCS systems, capable of satisfying mass production safety, complex control and advanced control applications. It is widely used in industrial production control, especially in many large petrochemical co-production plants.
Overview
FSC provides a dual redundant fault tolerant controller for safety and shutdown applications on the TPS system's Universal Control Network (UCN). These safety functions are integrated into the architecture to support unified operations and control, while at the same time providing the ability to isolate emergency shutdown (ESD) functions from process control strategies on a separate safety network.
By using the tight and reliable integration, FSC shares important features with its UCN peers, enabling direct peer-to-peer communication with Process Managers (PM), Advanced Process Managers (APM), High-Performance Process Managers and Logic Managers (LM). Support of higher level strategies is done through communication with Application Modules and host computers on the Local Control Network.
